A George II quart-sized silver Tankard.
A George II Quart size lidded silver Tankard, London 1732, by Richard Bayley, the front of the body engraved with the crest of Manners beneath a coronet with seven pearls: probably for one of the sons of the second Duke of Rutland. The underneath engraved with a set of contemporary initials.
Good. Of nice colour and surface with clear marks. Shadow impressions of the lid marks showing on the interior of the lid. The crest on the front of the tankard later but with no earlier engraving removed. Contemporary initials on the underneath.
