Collectors' Societies:-

http://www.antiquemetalwaresociety.org.uk/  The website of the Antique Metalware Society. A society of scholars and collectors of base metalwares. A journal is published annually and regular meetings are held, usually in Hartley Wintney, Hampshire.

http://www.thesilversociety.org     The website of the Silver Society. Based in London, this is a society of scholars and collectors of silver wares which publishes a journal, 'Silver Studies', annually and holds regular meetings with fascinating lectures.

Amongst many other websites for collectors, I would recommend:

The website of The Society of Jewellery Historians

The Society of Wine Label Collectors

The website of a collector of 18th century sugar nippers, which were almost invariably referred to at the time as Tea Tongs.

A website devoted to the later 'Bow' form of 'Tea Tongs' introduced in the third quarter of the 18th century.

The Society of Caddy Spoon Collectors.

CLEANING SILVER AND OTHER METALWARES:-

The website of the Victoria and Albert Museum, in South Kensington, London has an excellent section with advice on the care and cleaning of antique metalwares

FAMILY SITES:-

http://www.lindasilver.co.uk/  Whilst retaining her existing silver and silver-plate shops at the London Silver Vaults, Vaults 53, and 55, Linda now has a new shop with jewellery.

A NEW WEBSITE:-

A good friend and a dealer of many years has just set up a website for her stock of glass lighting and other items.
